Everybody can now have access  to the internet, to hold in hand a smartphone which has thousands of times more memory than the most powerful computers in the late 90's. You can easily buy a photo-video camera that can do the job of the cameras which served on shooting the Titanic, or even better. You can access huge amounts of information, but this is not all! More advanced technologies like HAARP or the particle accelerator from Switzerland, the creation of C.E.R.N.
